Cool, glad to spread the sundog joy. :-) Gone now but the clouds are still moving so they may yet reform.

I didn't know what a sun dog was until today. I couldn't see it because the sun was on the wrong side of our building. But I think I've learnt something nevertheless.

Sun dogs' fire, on the horizon,
Meteor rain stars across the night,
    This moment may be brief
But it can be so bright,
Reflected in another source of light.

    When the moment dies,
    The spark still flies,
Reflected in another pair of eyes.

Fantastic sun pillar this morning. It was still there a few minutes ago. Look just above where the sun is.

There is a lovely circumzenithal arc just now. An inverted rainbow directly overhead. Unfortunately it has got a bit cloudy but probably still worth looking out for. Also some cracking sundogs earlier on.

I spotted it too! Got some good photos.

It's one of the top scores in The Cloud Collector's Handbook: you get 45 points for a circumzenithal arc, plus 25 if it's accompanied by sundogs.

I saw a halo, sun dog and upper tangent arc while cycling on Sunday morning in East Lothian.

It sounds similar to I spy the weather. Points for different weather phenomenons.

It was the go to book for learning too read the sky for beginner gliding pupils in the 90s.
