That's brilliant! If there was any more space, and any more money (there isn't!) I'd have me a fat bike!

Hi Gary, nice to have you on CCE. Wasn't it you whom Anth spotted at Aberlady beach one day?

Imagine Endomorph tyres with ice spikes!

Yes, that was myself. I do recall seeing Anth that day and did think about stopping but didn't Wish I had!
Pugsley weighs in at...wait for it...19.3 kg or 42.5 lbs but you don't really notice it unless lugging the bike up cliffs, across dry stone walls, etc.

Blimey, that's probably 10lb more than my LHT, and I thought it was heavy! I shall have to stick it on the scales and find out. Of course as you say, weight is relative, and gearing more important :)

    Lovely video.

Cool vids Gary, I'm tempted to get a Go Pro HD now!!

I've never been out to the midget subs and really fancy it.

Bikes are only heavy if you have to carry them, You don't have to carry a Pug.

We have an 18 back in stock at TBC if you fancy a try out.

  12. Ooh, would be fun even to just try - I need to pop in to talk Surly Pacer with you anyway. I need to confirm size, oh and rear spacing is 130 it appears, reckon it'll stretch to 135?

Anyway, will see what size I need then see if before Christmas for a frameset is feasible.

I've wanted a Pugsley ever since seeing Gary riding it out at Aberlady (before I knew who he was). Sooooooo cool.

"Bikes are only heavy if you have to carry them,..."

So you'll be seen on next years audaxes riding one then? ;-)

    (only teasing btw!)

Edited to add, just weighed the Surly LHT (roughly on kitchen scales!) with saddlebag, 2 x loaded panniers, my usual toolbag etc.
4 stone (56lb if my memory for lb in a stone is correct) which makes a rather scary 25kg. Still (massively) less than I took when I went camping on it :-o
Explains why pushing along the winter tyres was feeling like hard work :-/ still, good strength training I suppose!

    anth - 130mm please. I wouldn't stretch that out to 135.

The Cross Check will do it. It is 132.5.

BTW anth I've sent you a tweet about another potential frame that I found that might fit your green / steel / hug geared criteria.
