Doutbful - we need a redezvous that is more suitable for those of us with the school run/breakfast/clothing/baby/buggy prep on top of the usual bike prep

  9. As has been said before, there's nothing stopping those with school run/breakfast/clothing/baby/buggy prep on top of the usual bike prep from arranging something! We're not arranging early PY breakfasts just to get at those who can't make that particular time!

(I may be a doubt for this - got an 8am meeting tomorrow, and Friday will be the first day that I'll be allowed to get in at the luxuriously late time of 9, feels like a lie-in! That said, it is always a really pleasant wat to start the morning...)

I'll be there, in the 08.16 - 08.43 slot, hopefully.

I cycled in an hour eariler than normal this morning. My cycle buddy, had to be in work before 8am. We followed his route along Queensferry Road from Cramond Brig, and it was not too busy, and was refreshing, as I usually head along the cycle path from Cramond Brig. Its nice to get in early, and have a relaxing shower, grab a cuppa and get to my desk ahead of time.

I just don't like getting out of bed at 6am. (sorry to those who regularly get up at 6am). I usually wake after 4am for an hour of dosing and am only just getting my second wind at 6am.

Still I'll set my alarm and hope to see some of you on Friday.

    That slot may be oversubscribed...

Perhaps PY should have an 'order by txt 5 minutes before you get here' system!

No excuses Anth - how are you going to see my lovely new bike, unbroken, in daylight otherwise? ;-)

    And me uninjured, of course.

I've managed to clock in before ten past eight twice this week, so am not yet discounting attending.

Where'd you all go? got to PY maybe 20 mins ago to find lycra clad ladies who were _not_ friendly to me in my best cyclechic outfit of dress, funky tights, boots and new hairdo.

Bloke with one of them sneered at my bike as I was locking up (well, not verbally but the look on his face strongly suggested a sneer...or that he needed to blow his nose).

Have seen them there other Fridays - they leave their expensive bikes unlocked, beside the shop.

Overheard in queue 'I'ms till riding my good bike, the winter bike need work' 'oh, put it off as long as you can...I know, its like riding a sponge...'.

Finally, I pluck up courage to try and ask the ones who were there first if they'd seen 'other bike folk' - didn't answer. woman who arrived after I did told me she hadn't seen anyone (surprise). "another group? that must be the secret group" cue laughter.

I should've said 'no - the public one'

Yep, I didn't find a late shift either, having just popped round.

Saw the same folk sitting inside, but was too shy to ask if they were CCE!

That other group sounds delightful. Perhaps we should start hanging on long enough to get in their way and throw in a bit of yah-baiting into the conversation.

It's about time everyone updated the CCE Top Trumps thread with a recent picture (perhaps including winter plumage) for easy identification.

    I second this suggestion.

Sorry SRD, we all informally got up at 8.30 to gawp at Dave's new bike. Its lovely and I'm thinking of waiting in hiding to mug him of it later on.... [joke!!]

To be a little more fair to them - they obviously weren't expecting anyone else and certainly not anyone not in co-ordinated ERC lycra and clumpy feet....
