Shoulda pointed them in the direction of Ronde. (Although that's actually an insult to Ronde, as it's really rather pleasant and the coffee is awesums)

"all show and no go" as opposed to All go and not much show? :-)
Nice to meet up, sorry we bailed too early SRD & Roibeard :-(

Oh and a great big thank you to Jackson Priest for the gift of the canti's, Christmas come early for me :-)

Updated Top Trump... Hmmm will have to try to find time, at least I'll get some extra awesomeness points for all the pedals I keep breaking (sigh)

Don't think you could get away with leaving something propped up unlocked outside the front of Ronde whilst you had a coffee..

No, there tends to be little 'chained up in a lump' huddles of carbony bikes right next to the door. I usually chain the family wagon up on the fence. #sonoteuro :)

@SRD I have noticed what sounds like this particular peloton a lot 'round here' recently, and oddly enough a fair bit during the working day.

Must admit, I did wonder how they finance all the blingy bikes / rapha type gear while apparently not working ?

Haven't we seen there keen types before when we had our last but one meetup, where we sat outside? They ignored us and on the same day (??) there was some famous (certainly not to me) cyclist sponsored by Sky cycling with some dolly bird (no ofence ladies of CCE)??

Couldn't make it today due to scary ice + dark combo. I came in at 9.10 (so nice!) instead. Looks like I just missed the rain :)

@ SRD - one of the benefits (I hope) of CCE is that it isn't cliquey - rather it is open, friendly and helpful.

  8. Non-cliquey - I think so. We were commenting today on CCE spokecards designed by Kappers (it has to happen) and the sheer number of different types of bike we manage to park outside (though no folders or bents today).

The woman behind the counter apologised for the delay servicing me, "it's always like this when the cyclists are here" (in a good way).

Also thanks for the multiple cleat bolts - it was really rather pleasant to ride away not in my road shoes, but attached to the bike (I'm not comfortable riding without cleats). £35 from TBC for the shoes, I couldn't resist.

Annoying that I don't work round the corner as have to leave at 8:30 really or I've got no chance to make my desk (I'm supposed to be there at 8.30 anyway!).

I could have PYed for the late shift but I had to take a little cat to the vet this morning to have her bump inspected.

Cheers all! see you next time (I hope). I think it helps that we are always on the lookout for new folk, so we tend to smile at bikey people in general, on the off chance that they might be forumers.

And we welcome unusual bikes "whatever you ride.." rather than being (just) speed snobs.

That's ok, hope you like them once they're on.

I ended up not going in, so didn't see any cliquey bike types, though I did see one Renner be-capped person (sorry, be-casquette-ed) entering the building.

Nice to briefly meet people on their way out. I think I may not have introduced myself in a formal manner, but tbh it feels a bit stupid to say "Hello, I'm Jackson Priest off the internet" when it's a made-up name.

If you feel that too silly a name, I believe "Nelson Longflap" is available, and much admired in some quarters... ;-))

Not sure it's an improvement myself, but there you go!

It's just I haven't had much practise at introducing myself as Jackson Priest, so it feels a bit unnatural. Whereas I've had 43 years practise (ok, knock off 6 months or so while I learnt to speak) at introducing myself with my correct name.

Nelson Longflap is a cool name though...

I'd also point to the variety on the ostensibly performance-based Hilly Tuesday; folders, bents, single-speeds, trailers, tandems, rotational versions of Blackpool illuminations...

Spoke-cards please. I have a laminator at work if that helps.
