"Dutch commutes are the longest in Europe. This doesn't stop them from cycling"

Another view -
"
The new cycle activists seek to escape from that marginal position: they reject anti-car ideology, and see themselves as non-political infrastructure campaigners, in alliance with developers and the road lobby. That explains their view of cycling as a non-political response to provision of cycle infrastructure. The Netherlands is used to illustrate that claim – but since the reality there does not support it, a mythical version of Dutch planning history is used instead."

Does the distinct lack of hills (excet in the DEEP South) have anything to do with it?
Of course I'm not going to ignore the huge cultural shift and cycle promoting infrastructure in place.

"Of the 91 minutes that the Dutch travel on average per day, 17 of those minutes are spent on the bicycle (19%)."
Not that far really then....;)

Whilst its great that they use their bikes for the really short journeys that many people in the UK drive,
TBH anything under 2.5km i'm more likely to walk especially with the buggy as its less work to get out the door.It does kind of hint to the real source of Copenhagenizeing; if your ride is walking distance its very easy to do it in "normal" clothes just as I would walk 2km in "normal" clothes I would likely dress for 15km walk.

Dutch sales of electric bikes are very high...
Obviously these long commutes are tiring them out...!
Also interesting to note this - Dutch Road Speed limit to be raised despite fears...
"The Dutch motoring association ANWB backs the minister's plans as it reflects motorists' sense of freedom. "
There are Clarksonesque people in Netherlands of course, just as here. No doubt they look over the border to Germany and the higher speed limit there. The Dutch government know this move will cost lives and money but they've budgeted for it - so it's all ok then;-)
