I think this is a genuine TFL campaign

Ignoring comments about h*****s, it's quite amusing!

Clever - think you can buy the poster (or t-shirt?).

Reckon you are too young, but some of our (ahem) older members may be able to give you a copy of the original book if you want a giggle.

I seem to remember it caused a bit of a stir at the time - ah, the innocent days pre internet !!!

The BBC did an article recently with the artist responsible for TJOS, must have been 40th or some sort of annivesary. It was quite interesting the challenge they faced of trying to get such a book with detailed iilustrations actually past the censors and onto the shop shelves. The beards were a deliberate addition to help with this. Apparently a lot of the life models were also his friends and colleagues.

Ah, the Joy of Cycling poster was an entry for a TfL competition by Airside, but I believe that TfL didn't take it on.

(Edinburgh connection - Airside is the design collective set up by Fred Deakin. Fred used to live in Edinburgh and ran the Going Places club, amongst others, before heading to London and setting up Airside and founding Lemon Jelly. Airside recently announced that they are calling it a day at the start of 2012 - not sure what Fred will be up to after that.)

I've been told that it's available for sale in the Look Mum, No Hands! cycling cafe in London.

Oh, in that case they'll probably have it in stock at Ronde in about 4 months.
