Baisikal is a bike shop based in the village of West Linton, 20 minutes South of Edinburgh, specialising in refurbished bicycles and components. We offer repairs and servicing on all bikes, and will consider the purchase of any old bike, as well as welcoming donations of bikes and parts to help you clear some space without just adding them to landfill! Our focus is on recycling serviceable components whilst also disposing whatever cannot be salvaged in an environmentally concious way. We can also source any new component that you require at very competitive prices – please contact us by mail or phone or pop in to have a chat!

Muttergrumble. They make a shop with a brief that's music to my hipster retrofetishizing ecobearded ears and then go and ruin it with that ghastly name.

Just Googled my shop and found this thread! I can only apologise for the (awesome) name if it offends you, but please give me a shout for any coloured chains, mid 90's Cannondales or facial hair styling requirements! (I also offer great value second hand bikes and high quality servicing and repairs!)

@Uberuce Whatever you do don't swing past Flux on Bernard Street. They had a load of cyclus bags in the other week.

There can't be many bike shops down that neck of the woods. Perhaps some day a CCE day-trip ride will swing by and we can have a peer around. Does your kettle work? ;)

It'll be getting cold now so I'm only going if the kettle works (or if there's a coffee and roll emporium nearby).

This would make a nice short winter day out for us Insto. Probs around a hundred kilometers? Would make a nice sat morning run?

I tried googling but unavailable. Also the bag website is in Spanish. I think I get both ideas tho. Also west Linton used to have an awesome bakery.

Cycle logical is Quite a common name for a bike shop. baisikal cold be basque for bicycle if it wasn't bizikleta or txirrindula

100km? What's that in real money, about 60 miles? Let me get through the C2C and I'll let you know if 60 miles is a Saturday morning run or a whole weekend.

The new trail, to be called the John Muir Coast to Coast Trail

Primarily another long distance walking route but supposed to be suitable for cycling.

The walking route will go over Corstorphine Hill, with an alternative cycling option.

Went past that shop on a portovelo run a few weeks back.I think Mr Baisikal and myself share a mutual friend as one of my mum pals was talking good things about the shop a couple o months ago. I'll need to pop down.
