  1. My cheery hail through the open window of the Fiesta that had twice had the the unstoppable imperative to overtake. He was looking out for me. I was passed with lots of room, and very quickly, towards the bottom of Johnstone Terrace. Just before the queue of traffic at the roadwork lights at the bottom that I filtered past.

At the next I had positioned at a junction for a just-afterwards right hand turn and he slunk up my left side. Thing is he was making the same right turn and so had to take it reeeeeaaaaaallllly wide because I covered those first 20 yards just as quickly. Hell, he even had a head start of a couple of yards with the junction positioning.

Bingo. As expected. Queue of traffic a further 60 yards on. Filter to front of the queue, giving my greeting as I pass.

Cars are soooooo much quicker than bikes.

Well done, Anth! Both on the politeness *and* the speed stakes. Now if only my tricycle were a bit narrower, I could do the same on the numerous stops on the Lanark / Slateford / Dalry Road. Perhaps I should think about a Raptobike?
