  1. Picked up a Petzl at Tiso before the sales, already reduced to a tenner. Just a basic model, but I actually think this morning, the first ride with it, the use was proved as someone reversed out of their drive with high walls either side, but I was able to look at them over the wall...

    I think, given I've got a couple of Walz caps, I might convert one to the winter headtorch cap and get the old needle and thread out, rather than relying on the stretchy band. But I'm pretty impressed.

    I had a wee Petzl thing i lost that was perfect for riding with... must try and find it.

    Also have basic Petzl. Unfortunately it wwas found to be largely incompatible with helmet as that caused the light to shine in entirely the wrong position. I used it last year in worst of the snow (when I was wearing my fleecy hillwalking earflap hat thing) but decided I didn't like head torches in the snow as they cause the snow immediately infront of your eyes to reflect the light and end up dazzling you.

    Just back from Aldis. They have fishing caps with built in white LEDs at the front of the skip.

    I'll stick with the Lowe Alpine Trail Cap.
