Hi All. This may be committing a huge crime on a cycle forum, but here goes :-)

My daughter starts at Tollcross Primary School soon - and I was wondering where people park (their cars!) to dropoff/pickup - for the life of me I can't find anywhere to park/stop without sitting on yellow lines or parking miles from school.. How does anyone on here do it? Any help would be very welcome :-), James.

PS I'm taking her in on a bike (downhill most of the way, so easier!), but she gets picked up in a car thing.

Bus? (I'm presuming that you don't live in the catchment area). Surely one justification for putting the Gaelic programme at Tollcross was that it benefited from such good public transport connections?

@jcoutts I think there's a back / side entrance to playground? Well, there's a gate anyway I pass every morning. Accessible from Thonybauk / West Tollcross, off Ponton Street. I wouldn't try stopping on the main road - otherwise you will incur my wrath as I cycle past in the morning :) You'll be much more likely to be able to stop/park a car round the back without committing an infraction.

There's a tiny car park, but presume it's just for staff.

    "round the back"

    opposite a busy GP clinic...

Sorry. I know I'm not helping. But cars/primary schools are one of those things...

Further round the back than that. You can't stop on Ponton Street either, where the clinic is.

But yeah. Clinic, main fire station for Central Edinburgh, Primary School, Nursery School, one way system. It really is mainly ideal for bike and bus and foot!

Gardners Crescent. One road to cross and that has a lollipop man/lady.
