He should really be using panniers for all that equipment...
Its a very cool piece of kit, there are so many small movements we do to keep upright with out thinking trying to automate that is real achievement.

Unlike the little robot however, humans don't usually have great big gyroscopes in their chests for precision balancing. I can't view the videos but is this the one where 'he' pedals forwards and around the place, then comes to a dead stop and performs the tightest trackstand you ever did see?

We don't have great big gyroscopes but we have very clever little ones in our ears, some ear infections kill off the little hairs in our inner ear causing labyrinthitis meaning one has to learn how to balance all over again.

you can torture goldfish by incorporating iron into their diet. This accumulates in the otoconia - the little stones in the inner ear suspended on hairs that effectively act like pendulums and tell us which way is up/down.
You can then place magnets around the tank which alter their pereception of gravity and make them swim along upside down or on their side.
Or so I was told in 3rd year biology lectures. Never seen it done.

Didn't see that one, though we were shown how you could disrupt mice's navigational abilities (particularly those pertaining to the location of concealed platforms in buckets of water) by breaking their hippocampi or how you could potentially do that beard-of-bees thing but with a slime mould by daubing your chin with cyclic AMP.

Standing still is clever but balancing while moving? Maybe human riders are not doing as much as they think...http://www.naden.de/blog/bbvideo-bbpress-video-plugin -->
