Hi all, hope this is the right place to post this - but I'm involved in the Cycling Embassy of Great Britain and next weekend (in London, sorry!) we're holding our 'policy bash' to try and thrash out a detailed set of policies. We're basically a group of cyclists who are lobbying for full-blown, Dutch style, cycling facilities as the only way to bring about reasonable cycling rates in the UK (you can read our manifesto here) because we didn't feel that any of the national organisations were covering that option (I know many of the local cycling campaigns are much more active in this regard).
Obviously it's far too short notice for anyone Edinburgh based to get themselves down to London, but we are also planning an exploratory meeting in Glasgow on the 18th February to look at forming a Scottish 'consulate' (we may be taking the whole Embassy thing too far...), more details when we have worked them out. We're also inviting people to join in a virtual policy debate - details here. Be interested to hear what people think.
