On a similar note, caught the end of the panorama thing on rail costs last night. Presenter chap was a bit irritating, but some of the information presented was interesting. Suspect she was slightly ambushed, but the representative from the Rail Regulator came across poorly. Effectively "How can we know in detail whether the Rugby station project is going well? The project hasn't finished yet..."

Yes, she didn't come across well, but as everyone in Edinburgh knows its difficult to estimate the cost of large rail-using projects...

    Meanwhile -

"SERVICES at Rugby's railway station could be damaged after the decision to go ahead with the controversial HS2 rail line between Birmingham and London."

From that article: "Mr Pawsey said he had kept an open mind over the project but had decided it could have a negative impact on stations along the current West Coast Mainline including Rugby". Mr Pawsey was not forthcoming with how he had reached this conclusion.
