S'not me, for once. I've got previous, breaking my arm and tearing my cruciate ligament, but neither rendered me as immobile as my other half is just now.
Walking on Sunday she slipped on some mud and fell on top of her left leg, whcih gave way with a horrible 'crack'. She has a spiral fracture just above the ankle, and is in plaster for an estimated 6 months weeks.
On Sunday she had virtually no pain and was remarkably calm - yesterday it all hit home a bit, and the pain started. I do remember that from my arm and knee, the constant ache that makes you feel utterly ill. At least with the arm I could move about and make one-armed tea and so on; and with my knee movement (as long as it wasn't violent) was positively encouraged (if painful).
With both the pain subsided to manageable levels after a couple of weeks, but just wondering if anyone had experience of this kind of fracture, and recovery times from it, that I can pass on?
Fortunately she has an appointment at the fracture clinic on Thursday to answer more questions (A&E was rushed and a bit chaotic) and move to a lighter-weight fancy cast.
