Well done to ALL posters

Wonder if it'll be the same people doing it as last time and if they would notice/complain if I turn up with the sparebike?
"Wonder if it'll be the same people doing it as last time"
Possibly
" and if they would notice/complain if I turn up with the sparebike?"
Very unlikely.
Maybe three strikes and you're out though...??
yeah I was just contemplating how to get both bikes there at the same time...
Pino + piggyback upright didn't raise an eyebrow, nor did returning the following day on a ladies bike that was too small for me...
You can't rock up on a kids bike though - they draw the line at those!

Thought it was yesterday when I popped out for a wander but had the wrong bike with me anyway. Bump for reminder for next week...
Cheers for the reminder, I forgot yesterday!
Bump, pre-Thursday. Thought it was tomorrow but thought to check before switching things over to slowbike...
I plan on taking one bike in tomorrow, then another in the day after so I have both bikes in at work for the tagging.
Oh, and don't bother with the RFID tags - they can't be read (on the Pino at least) unless you know where they are and the "wand" has line of sight to the tag.
So, useful for proving you own the bike, but very unlikely to be useful for finding out that you own the bike, contrary to the adverts...

What's the Pino made out of?
Titanium, but the officer that attempted to read the chip said they'd had problems with a mountain bike's forks too.
The recommendation from the chip company is to not put it down the seat tube (too predictable), instead to put it in the bottom bracket or similar. I used the Pino's boom after checking that that would be OK.
Of course, the police then checked the seat tube first...
Although the advertising photos show an officer waving a detector in the general direction of a digger, the range is such that they really need patience or to know where to look. I doubt that they'll have the time or inclination to check every stolen bike properly for the tag, having seen how much effort was required to find one when we knew where it was!
Robert
Too late to not get one for properbike but I've yet to choose somewhere to install it.
