I completed the questionnaire. Some of the questions are very problematic in terms of choices you can select and terms are not always defined and a wee bit loaded IMO.
I'm sure there are other forumers with far more knowledge of social research than I, but in my limited experince of eliciting info from people this is pretty iffy.Posted 13 years ago # -
Riffian, I didn't think the design was brilliant, but better than some we have seen. It is a student project. Worth supporting, I would think. the more responses s/he gets, the more robust the data and analysis.

Only possible to specify one type of bike!

I selected 'other' and listed my bikes there.

Weird that there's a "medical treatment needed" option for the "near-accident" subsection. If it needed treatment it wasn't a near-accident, surely?

I've completed the survey. Lots that could be improved, particularly the "near accident" section - that didn't seem to make much sense at all. I wouldn't fancy trying to draw any conclusions from the results, really needed a sharper focus on a couple of issues.
However, we all have to start somewhere - so good luck to whoever is doing this.

Hazards on my journey? Given I commute via the Innocent, where do I start? :-D

GIGO. More responses means someone will make more bold assertions from bad data. I gave up. I spend enough time looking at poor survey questions at work. But at least I get paid for it and I get to fix them. Surveymonkey is to research design what Jeremy Clarkson is to road safety.
