Zazou closer to my work so better than PY but alas also half term for me so not at work. Might still cycle down the WoL. I used to have access to an espresso machine that worked in same way as a bicycle pump. Using hot water from a flask and pods. Rather nice to have an espresso out in the pentlands. Did 50 mile loop on Whang yesterday - west Calder, wool fords, auchengray, braehead, carnwath for £1.20 expresso then home forsimplesimonspie

SRD beat me to it
But I am bumping this up the food chain.
New info: he's happy to open early on Friday assuming repairs today restore power.
Otherwise we could all take or camping stoves there ;)Posted 12 years ago # -
splitters & SRD got to it first, but I'd like to add the 'closed for repairs' message had disappeared as of this morning. So I guess the repairs were successful :)

If he's open, I'm in. I'd be happy sitting outside, with foreplanning I can bring an extra coat to keep me warm.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Yep, this Friday am is also good for me :)
Posted 12 years ago # -
@kaputnik - in outside?
@lionfish - good to hear repairs successful - thanksPosted 12 years ago # -

@spitters: There's a new message saying it's fixed and open from Thursday as usual.
What time are people going to be meeting there? Has anyone negotiated an earlier opening?!
Posted 12 years ago # -
I negotiated 8am opening (^said earlier^)

Should be enough room inside -

yeah given there's only 6 of us going? we'll only half fill the place
remember to bring plenty change - we don't all want to be needing change of a twenty (or possibly a tenner depending on how many cups of coffee you buy and how much cake/muffins/flapjack/caramel slice you want to consume, all of which have been tested and are good though I would say caramel slice you get two per pack so enough to share and very yummy, flapjack would be second choice and muffin 3rd, not sure if he will have fresh local home made cakes or not but for only 6 of us I'm not bugging him to get any in)Posted 12 years ago # -
"given there's only 6 of us going? we'll only half fill the place"
There will probably be more on the day - hope he gets extra business too between 9 and normal 10:00 opening.

just a thought - does anyone have any of the stickers with the
on them? he might be happy to host one alongside his own :)Posted 12 years ago # -
>>There will probably be more on the day
Somewhat depends on work and domestic arrangements but I'm hoping to get along to this as it's (kind of) on my way to work. Just didn't want to make a firm commitment, in case it all went pete tong. There, I've probably jinxed it now...

Still on for it. I'm going to take cycling to a new avande garde level of minimalism and ride there without a bike.
Posted 12 years ago # -
I'm up for it too, and I might even manage 8am, plus or minus. Wonders will never cease.
Posted 12 years ago # -
I'm not committing as it depends on the level of cooperation that can be extracted from the child.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Its on my route, tempted by another hour in bed, should be ok for this.
Posted 12 years ago # -
I've lost count now...
Posted 12 years ago # -
Bit far in wrong direction for me plus just back from hols and time is a bit tight.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Did I mention I'm in?
Posted 12 years ago # -
Right then. Come hell or high water ..mark.. on the canal I'll be there at 8:00 am. As a CCE meet virgin, I'm looking forward to this. Watch out for a fat old git with an annoying twangy home counties accent...

Just as well I left when I did, I thought, as I'd forgotten about a 9am meeting that was in the diary.
Then the meeting got cancelled.
Good to see folk both old and new.
Lovely fish 'eds to you all!

I was so tired yesterday that I slept for nine hours, then completely forgot about this morning. :(

Arellcat: I didn't make it either :( was looking forward to it too! Found out last minute I had to be in New Town early... gah!
Well, next time...

Indeed, nice to meet up and have a chinwag.
Been a while since I was there/PY and I am a wee bit out the loop on everyones faces / forum names.
I was late in, sat near door opposite (I think) Uberuce - I think I introduced myself as niall / nelly, but if not...............Hello !!

I'd say that worked out rather well, although as one of the Harrison Park Mob I would say that. Just sneaked into double figures by the end, by my count.
@Nelly, yes that was moi. Going clockwise from you was Kaputnik, Anth, Its_Me_Knees, [chap in fetching patterned shirt, I didn't catch the name/handle, sorry], ExcitableBoy, Spitters, Steveo then me.
I'll never look at a table leaf the same way again...
