Does that mean that chdot was wearing the funky shirt? Or was he merely lurking with a camera?

  2. "So what do people think? Is it the new blues mobile meet up point for quality coffee at a decent price?"

    Fix the cigarette lighter...

I think we now have two good locations. I can make both. Some people can only make either or, should work well. PY still holds slight sway for me personally as it is on the way, and opens earlier for more lounging time.

Zazoo's prices (and to be honest the simplicity of the coffee) are vote winners.

Both serve gluten free stuff, so happy on thats core either way. My coffee + cake this morning was cheaper than the coffee on its own at PY.

"quality coffee at a decent price"

Yes £1.60 for your own cafetiere is cheap. Sticker on window said it was organic too!

Maybe not enough sales to be worth opening two hours early(?)

With it being half-term, he might find some parents and kids about as well?

(no reply to query re shirt?)

  7. Can't see the photo, but from bumping into chdot as I left he wasn't wearing a funky shirt...

What's interesting is the slightly different turnout to each venue. Some names I've not seen at PY.

Just a little bit too far out of my commute locus, or at least it seems to be, doable if I was upnattemnouttem at an early hour.

Now I'm hugely confused. I thought I'd met Gembo at the last PY...

@SRD Nine for coffee and chdot's cameo bumped us to ten. Although since Mr. Zazou is a cyclist too, that's really ten and eleven.

    Bonus!

    Spot on

I'll see how he felt about the return on his early start and how often we could do this again (he even made a point of saying he hadn't had his first cup of coffee of the day, someone joked he couldn't as we had all the coffee pots to which he asked if anyone had finished yet and could he have a pot and was surprised when he got 5! we drink coffee fast!

I liked zazou, and its just off my commute route - but in line with anth, 8am doesnt work that well for me, so my vote would go PY - that said, happy to vary it, and it was quite nice getting a long lie this morning!

n.b. re : PY coffee cost - there is a cheap option, which is the flask of filter coffee / honesty box just past the till - had this the last time I was there, very reasonable, and decent coffee (saves queuing too).

    Flask - Yep - \(-o-)/ - and is good
Honesty box - Nope (;_;) - People obviously weren't being honest enough.

Internet forums are like radio stations. None of the disc jockeys (aka forum posters) look the way you imagined them. That made this morning's meeting all the more entertaining for me. Nice to meet everyone, so it was.

With a change in commute in three weeks time I was thinking that the canal boat was a less attractive proposition than PY (cheaper beverages and more 'earthy' feel notwithstanding) but it occurs to me that the towpath is on my new commute (at the Gilmour place end) so maybe not such a big diversion after all. Accordingly, I'll be up for either venue.

you can still get the coffee out the flask, you just have to do the (literally) extra step of paying for it at the till.

Like richard o brien nearly wrote: "It's just a pump to the flask... and then a step to the righ-igh-igh-igh-igh-ight."

You lot are bonkers and my collegues are giving me strange looks as I laugh out loud at my desk [whispers] when I'm supposed to be doing real work...[/whispers]

Sorry I couldn#t make it, its rather out of my way and I didn't fancy an extra early morning.

I don't actually rate PY's americano, but their filter isn't any less worse so I started drinking that. It isn't an honesty system any more. You buy your first coffee £1.60 I think then it's a £1 for each refill. Pay at the till.
