Nice to hear about more British cyclists winning, well done the ladies!

Fantastic achievement and regardless of what "some people" might think - seeing women on bikes in the national colours winning medals and being the best in the world can only be good for women's cycling.
BBC "Sports" coverage on Iplayer has 16 football shows. Totality of all other sport in 14 further shows, half of which (unsurprisingly for time of year) are rugby.
There's still a lot of progress to be made with the media when it comes to cycling as a sport. Pick up any newspaper sports supplement or visit the BBC Sport website (particularly BBC Scotland section) and it might as well be called the Football section.
Not a go at football - but the BBC in particular invests masses of money and airtime serving what is ultimately a largely male demographic and something that when push comes to shove, the home nations are pretty embarrassingly bad at playing.

Apparently the cyclists (presume the ladies) are on the front of the Guardian tomorrow. Column inch by column inch...

I have to confess to enjoying the six nations, and to be fair I don't think covering the internationals is too much. However it doesn't require blanket coverage and I have long been bored to tears by the over-coverage of the most minor of soccer matches :-(
More diversity would be very welcome!Posted 12 years ago # -
Well maybe no live coverage on BBC of the London Track Championships, but never mind, there's always highlights from the Tour of Oman on at midnight on Eurosport...

I have to say I was calling it a world record well before the commentators picked up on it.
