Spare a thought if you see a white Mini tomorrow with a frustrated cyclist driver behind the wheel in the city tomorrow. Come down with lurgy, normally the cycling endorphins can take care of it, but I think I did more harm than good today. So I'm taking the car tomorrow - practical too, got my mahoosive lens to post off to Sigma for a warranty repair, and have the attendant box and wrapping. That's an excuse really, but a reasonable one when I'm feeling like this...

Taking the car tomorrow, be gentle

Ah, the dreaded manflu lurgy.
I took the car today (and tomorrow for various reasons). Went my bike commute route, was interesting to get a car view of pinch points etc.

Already been accused of 'manflu'. Strange how men are never actually ill... :P

Right Anth. tomorrow is my first real cycle since the accident
I popped out for a short tester run today
I dont want you ploughing into me on a Day Nurse high ;)Posted 12 years ago # -
Anth, there are quite a few MINIs on the road, please ensure you wear your cycling cap and orange shirt behind the wheel so we can identify you and save you from a torrent of "why don't you get a bloody bike" abuse as we cruise by :) I suggest fitting your tron lights to the wheels will assist in identifying you too.

I was easily able to ID you on Tuesday seeing as you had the bike on the top but without that you'll appear just like any other white extra-wine-space Mini with a bike rack on the roof. Maybe tie the Windcheetah to the rack like a flag.

I can confirm that I was the model of restraint around cyclists in driving to work this morning. Helped to leave a little earlier than necessary so the roads weren't as clogged as they might have been.
As for Tuesday @wingpig, Mel actually spotted you before I did, remarking that you must be freezing. I explained about your X-Man levels of internal body heat.

I took the motorbicycle today on the grounds of being tired from yesterday's headwind battling. I was also a model of restraint, once I'd calmed down from hitting the brakes because of the lady who decided her journey was more important than mine.
Top of the Lanark Road by Gillespie crossroads is all dug up and one lane westbound, and is very busy. I tried to divert to avoid, and ended up diverted back to the roadworks!

Tsk, you could have caught the 22 from Leith possibly? after dropping off the car....
Posted 12 years ago # -
But then he'd have given everyone else on the bus his lurgey...

Mel's not at work today, so the 5 or the 4 or the 44 would have done the job.
But I have to say, I think sitting on public transport when you feel like death warmed up is possibly even worse than battling a bike into a headwind in the same condition!
Someone on here in the last couple of days mentioned that they didn't like sitting on buses surrounded by people coughing. I would have been that cougher.

Yeah, there is no need to inflict it on everybody else on the bus if you can avoid it.

Oy, Leith isn't a free car park. Where would I park my car freely if everyone started using our free parking and efficient transport system (the 22 and 10)

Anderson House does have free parking though. ;)

"Yeah, there is no need to inflict it on everybody else on the bus if you can avoid it. "
Or the rest of the office!
