Cyclist Injured by Lorry...

    Ah, that's what the police and ambulance were there for, thought something had happened on the slip-road from Comet.

    Hope the cyclist isn't too badly hurt!

    A friend saw the aftermath - may have been similar time as you baldcyclist - he said the bike looked a bit mangled.

    Hopefully the cyclist is ok. Lorry hit him and drove off according to the story.

    "There is every chance the driver was not aware what happened" according to the police.

    Ah, thats ok then.....

    They're being generous - it's possible it was a deliberate hit and run, but the driver may just have been so grossly negligent that they didn't realize they'd driven over someone.

    That should still be a 6-9 point offence IMO, but better than deliberately driving off leaving someone who's gone under the wheels of your truck without medical care...

    Hard to think of any explanation other than the lorry passing far too close. It's a straight road past Comet. It's a bit of road I'd never ride on - I'd either be unapologetically on the pavement if I was going round to South Gyle or turning at the lights (as I usually am) to go over to the path heading out to the airport.
