  1. We're going on a short break to Spain in March, then a longer holiday in October - and I want to try and learn as much Spanish as I can. I've checked out a couple of learning podcasts, which were pretty good, and confirmed that my French knowledge is going to be a huge help (I was able to understand some non-taught things straight off the bat).

But planning on getting a book and starting to learn the basics that way, and using that as back-up to a proper (probably weekly) tutor. Anyone have any experience of finding and using a 1:1 language tutor?

    Muchos Gracias! (see, learning already!)

    A polyglutton?
Isn't that, "can eat several pies in one sitting"?

I would have said 'polyglotton' but that looked like it didn't relate to 'glutton' sufficiently to be gotten.

As chance would have it, one of the girls at work has just started tutoring her mates in Spanish for a trip to South America. I'll ask her how it's going.
