  1. He's in Aberdeen - not a novice cyclist, he's competed in TTs and the like for years now. But commuting was a once in ablue moon thing, living 20+ miles from his work. But he's just bought a flat in Aberdeen and is 5 miles or so from his work. Got this email this morning:

"I love the commute in by bike too, although I time it rather than taking my time, its great sprint practice for my summer tt’s although I never hit any red lights this morning so I had no reason to sprint between lights! Yesterday I has some Albanian guy in a LHD 309 put his window and give me approval that I was doing 28 mph, according to him, along Great Northern Road."

    Good on him!

I know when I left Aberdeenshire, commuting between towns was pretty much out of the question, mainly due to the distances involved. I have to admit I am rarely in Aberdeen these days but I can't say I remember as much cycling there as happens in Edinburgh.

I could wrong as I always avoided the city centre at rush hour (which is arguably when most folk on bikes would be about).

Hope he continues to enjoy his commute!
