Scotsman | Vet students demand a free bus service

    "
HUNDREDS have signed a petition calling for Edinburgh University to provide a free bus service for vet students.

The bus would transport them from central campus to the Easter Bush Vet School.

I wonder if they are asking for better cycling links too?

Must admit I don't particularly like having meetings at the Vet School, I have to go up there usually once a month and invariably take the car.
Hourly service from Central area, and the meeting or exam or whatever always finishes five minutes after the bus has left.

  3. Actually, nice to see they're asking for a bus, and not just more parking.

The University already runs a bus from the Central area to KB, so you can understand why they might feel they are entitled to the same service as other students.
Don't know what their chances of success are on this one are?

Students get a bus from Old College to KB??? Lucky them! We used to have to walk or cycle. Infact we used to have to live in an old chip wrapper in a pothole in the road... and get up before we went to bed and walk for 15 hours to get to college. Don't know they're born these days.. !!

"used to have to live in an old chip wrapper in a pothole in the road"

    Not true.

They didn't have potholes in them days.

They had to make do with living in the gaps between cobbles. A bit like roadie-tyred cyclists in 2012.
