Have got a big (work) jamboree at the George Hotel for next few days, is there any decent cycle parking around there? Or am I better off hopping on a bus?

If 'you' are paying GH get them to look after bike.
There will be a private car park at back.

There are some bike racks (Sheffields, I think) on Rose Street next to Sainsbury's...
