    I have to admit these looks kinda cool and the science sounds solid

    at a cool £1000 though I would be mote tempted to buy two bikes instead and strap my feet to them instead

    I used to commute in roller blades for a while. This was somewhere a bit flatter than Edinburgh though.

    No I didn't roller blade down Braid Burn but I could give it a try and report back if you like?

    Actually, having just looked it up on the map, I almost definately fell in there whilst teatraying in January. That do?

    We used to use old style in-line skates (big long things) for summer training for cross-country skiing - with poles. Have always wanted to try a pair of proper roller blades, since they got small and quiet. One of these days I'll give in and pick some up at a nearly-new sale (yes, I have small feet).

    @SRD - no I didn't bus in - I pinched a colleague's metro off his desk at lunchtime
    (in fact I got the taxi yesterday as a bus would have made me very late indeed)
