For those of you planning to join us on April 28th - we've had to change the time to 2pm for a 3pm start. The reason is to avoid tangling with a pro-union march on the same day. There will probably still be folks on the Meadows at 1pm to greet any early birds, but we won't start gathering for the ride proper until 2 and we'll set off around 3pm.

We've updated all the posters and they're available as PDFs now here. All this is still subject to actual permission but we're hopeful it will go ahead as planned.

    Please spread the news...

Are we having a CCE picnic for families afterwards in the park?

Picnic sounds good to me - before and/or after, weather permitting.

Before sounds better to me 12-2 to allow staggered arrival?
(meaning late in my case with it being first trip with bairn on tail bike on road.
Group ride from Harrison park still on SRD?

Yes, I'm definitely on for the group ride in. Will advertise closer to time. Disappointed recombodna's not able to be there; will need someone else to take charge of front/back. Sounds like spitfire will have his hands full. we'll manage!

It's unfortunate there is another demo on the same day. Alas the pro-Union march is likely to get the lion's share of any media coverage.

I'll still be there at Pedal On Parliament though!

Excellent news, SRD. Great that we can do it by the book. I'll be there, though haven't decided on my exact mode of transport yet.

I don't think it's unfortunate - the media can stay where they are and keep filming, two stories in one day in one crew - the BBC will be happy.
Also who else is going to wear a V mask? ;)

I'm pretty sure it's not a "pro-union" march. It's Workers' Memorial Day which commemorates all workers who have lost their lives in the course of their job, whether union members or not.

Posters look awesome, is there anyway to get them as just an image file so I can share them on Facebook?
I shall also look at putting posters up at Craighouse campus and Merchiston campus at Edinburgh Napier :)

    It's still Workers' Memorial Day!

It may well be, but that wasn't causing the Police concern. The Paisleyites, on the other hand are. They are holding an "event" called "Scotland Says NO!" (their emphasis), they intend to sign a "covenant" in Parliament square and then march down to Holyrood. There are links to some more unsavoury elements of the Unionist movement from my inspection of their website. This in turn meant that Lothian and Borders took their time in deciding if our proposed route and timing to avoid the above lot was in order. Which it was. Phew!

If anyone wants JPGs you could look through my Tumblr, that links to the images on Flickr.

Hi all - we're gathering details of any feeder rides as they get organised on this page - please let us know if you've got any plans. I saw Harrison Park was mentioned as a possible feeder ride - any more? Particularly for folks coming in by car who might like to park and ride in with native guides rather than try and navigate Edinburgh's seven-dimensional geography with added tram works...

I don't think I'm going to go. I'm still having a lot of discomfort from my fracture before Christmas. My GP thinks I've knocked my symphisis pubis out of alignment and I think she's right, but sitting on a saddle is very uncomfortable. I am managing short rides, but the thought of all those cobbles down the Royal Mile is making me wince. I might just walk to the Parliament and see you all down there.

Random and not entirely flippant thought: any chance of getting Danny MacAskill to (literally) pedal on Parliament (or at least the terraces between the building and Holyrood Park, as seen on the Inspired vid)??

    One for .anth?
