Just to warn all two-wheelers using the WOL path down towards Leith. The bridge that runs under Newhaven Road has been renovated lately, but the bods that have done it haven't exactly been Kim-&-Aggie in their clean-up approach, meaning that there's a Flintstone-set-designer's-wet-dream amount of rocks lying about there. Coming home the other night, and doing about 20mph in the dark but with adequate lighting, I slammed right into one of these lovely nuggets and had a painful reunion with terra firma. Thanks to the unknown soldier that stopped to see if I was ok (I was, besides a swellbow and a shredded Rapha jersey). In other news, I am now waiting eagerly for the moment when I can use 'swellbow' on the ambulance. I'm already practising my serious face.
