The long-list for the Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award has been announced - the National Museum of Scotland is the only Scottish museum on the list.
Run by Kids in Museums, the Family Friendly Award covers the whole country and every kind of collection. A panel of volunteers whittled 100 museums down to a 20-strong long-list, which will be shortlisted in April when mystery judges 'road test' the nominees.
The National Museum of Scotland would like to encourage 'parent bloggers' to write about their experience of a family visit to the Museum on their blogs, which Kids in Museums will tweet about. If you, your friends or family would like to write about a visit to the Museum in April in exchange for free tickets to Fascinating Mummies, please contact j [dot] coutts [at] nms.ac.uk
