The man who lives in Bude now delivers mail within his hometown and the surrounding villages for 25p a letter, more than half the price of Royal Mail's postage.
Less. Less than half!

Less than half!
Indeed. A least they didn't try to express the difference as a percentage as BBC journos are inclined to do.

Yes, well...I am such a grammar nazi I find BBC English painful these days. It also amazes me on a daily basis that those people who profess to run the country speak the most dreadful English, the commonest mistake being the amount of people or cars when attempting to quantify numbers, it is NUMBERS, and fewer not less. Amounts are reserved for weight.
I believed that they had been brung up proper and were taught what to speak like!!

Taught *how* to speak like, surely!
Hmm. Think there's mileage for a guaranteed next-day bike postal service in Edinburgh? Stamp pegged at 50% of post office rate...
Surely the courier companies already offer this?

I think the guy made £37 gross in the last week (according to the report).
Perhaps not yet time to give up the day job...
