Europe’s bicycle manufacturers have accused their Chinese competitors of benefiting from illegal government subsidies, opening an acrimonious chapter in a long-running trade dispute.[i]
Apparently Chinese bicycle manufacturers account for less than 4% of the EU market because the EU slaps a near 50% duty on them in response to the Chinese govt subsidies for bicycle manufacturers.
