Have a conference dinner tonight at the Scotsman Hotel - any good suggestions for bike parking around there?

    Valley parking.

(Well it is in the old Nor' Loch valley.)

Simple answer is the railing on the pedestrian island.

Or 'phone them up, about leaving in basement (Market Street) - there will be a lift.

Or valet parking. It's a posh hotel, the customer is always accommodated (even if you're not a staying guest. )

I agree with chdot, phone them up and ask where 'their' cycle parking is. We have started parking in the Sheretan hotel carpark and they have cycle stands in the car park. The Scotsman should have the same.

    "I agree with chdot"

    That's what I like.

I wouldn't leave the Helios out on the street on a Saturday night in the middle of town. If you can't park it inside, then I would suggest taking the bus.

Bike stands at the Tron are probably the nearest.

    Emailed them.

"If you enter the hotel from Market Street you can store your bike in the entrance of our leisure facilities, or if you are entering through the Brassiere we are able to look it up safely in the conceirege office. "

Could one ask for a better reply?

best parking in town is the council offices, 24hr security and camera and out of the way. can be pretty busy during the day.

The brasserie staff were clueless and verging on unhelpful/rude, but once they rang through to the concierge staff, they could not have been more helpful. Bonus points to the Scotsman,
