Have a work trip to brussels this month and I thought instead of pootling around on the metro I'd bike it through the Villo scheme. As I'll be suited and booted to go to the EC i'll be slightly more cycle chic than my usual evil-spiderman look.

Has anyone used this and is it okay. Question number 2, what's Brussels like to cycle round?

"what's Brussels like to cycle round?"

    Keep right...

Only been for an hour and a half (between trains) managed to find a small bar, didn't see any bikes.

But I'm sure this forum is full of EU jetsetters.

I was in Brussels in January last year for a few days. There are a lot of cyclists, but also lots of cars, buses and trams. And pedestrians.
I remember having a look at the Villo bikes, but I don't recall seeing that many being used. Certainly nothing like the number you see in Paris (where every 2nd cyclist seems to be a Velo user).

In the previous few days we had been in Amsterdam, Delft and Ghent, so in comparison Brussels felt a bit short on bikes, but in comparison to most UK cities there are quite a lot of cyclists.

Just checked my photos of that trip and the only bike pic from Brussels was of a couple of Bromptons locked to a lamp post.
