I rebooted browser and problem went away
BUT might have been a co-incidence.
Didn't do anything to the browser and the message hasn't been back.

I just had this error, too, after writing a post. I tried reloading the page three times and it didn't help, but my post was added ok. I clicked the link to the topic category and clicked through to the thread and it seemed to work fine.
I've seen a very similar error crop up on another forum (almost to the very byte in fact), but that one uses vBulletin.
Edit: I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 on OSX 10.5.8 .

yup. i've not lost any posts. it's just sort of annoying (although, hmmm...am on my wee laptop now, and no errors. Both using same version of chrome though.

It won't be to do with what you used to post (or even what you use to view). It might have to do with *what* you posted though.
The error message comes from the server which is trying to build the page, not on the client side.

every time I try to open a new firefox tab for the competitive thread with any other thread or the home page open in another tab it crawls - in fact opening that thread seems to be the problem...
