Zenfrozt. Here are the wards for Edinburgh. You can probably figure it out from the names but if you are not sure there are boundary maps for each of the wards. I don't really find the numbering very helpful the names are more meaningful.

"Use your postcode to find out your Councillor and ward name."

It will be interesting to see how soon system has all the new people on.

We will have interesting debates coming up in Midlothian between two new councillors:
    Ian Baxter - Green
Peter de Vink - Independent (http://www.pdev4midlothian.org.uk/) who is whole heartedly against windfarms

The latter is my ward and was the only one of those elected who responded to my late email. He comes from NL and seemed very positive towards better facilities for cyclists in Midlothian.

No, Dave, people were not voting in blood. They were, however, smearing snot and bogies onto envelopes.

Spoilt votes - as someone who has worked at counts, I would say that if you intend to spoil your paper, the count workers much prefer a slogan, a crudely drawn phallus, or a sweary rant (such as the chap who put "nae f*cking chance" in every box last time) rather than just a blank vote or a scribble, because it breaks the monotony a bit and gives us a laugh.

I gave up and rang the council :) I'm Ward 11 - City Centre but only just lol.

    Ward 11 results
Joanna Mowat - Scottish Conservative and Unionist
Alasdair Rankin - Scottish National Party (SNP)
Karen Doran - Scottish Labour Party

    Electorate: 13,943
    Votes Cast: 5,101
    Turnout: 36.6%

That's an appalling turn out... I'm glad I was one of the 5,101 who bothered but just wow... ><

  9. Do they count the wards sequentially? I'm just, by four houses, in Porty/Craigmillar (rather than Duddingston/Craigentinny) which ake sit the 17th, and final, ward.

Shame in Leith, the one councillor that I've had help from is oot.

    Name Party Stage Elected

Gordon Munro Scottish Labour Party One
Chas Booth Scottish Green Party Five
Adam McVey Scottish National Party (SNP) Seven

  18. Only two to go. No overall control again, but Labour may be biggest reps? And yeah, could Greens be bigger than Lib Dems?

    It's all over folks

I hear Fife is nice to live in if you have your own jet ski to get to work...

Need 30 seats overall to have a majority in the 58-seat council. Coalition likely to form over the weekend...

    Who with though?

  21. Sorely disappointed with the lack of imagination from my fellow ward members...

I'm guessing, spitters, that you're not a Labour fan? ;)

duffyking tweet holds no punches in their opinion of Labour...

    duffyking:
@EdinburghLabour - you are dirty evil b@$t@rd$ for getting Walker, the dirty evil b@$t@rd, elected #voteedin12 #edelect @AndrewDBurns [via Twitter]

    oof...

    So Twitter doesn't filter then?

  25. Yeah but Spitters that was quite some time ago now, and it's not necessarily the same councillors. How long do we hold it against them? (bear in mind here I didn't vote for Labour and I'm lumbered with two Labour (and one SNP) in my ward).

They have no overall control this time round, so there won't be 'more' tram nonsense forced through - I don't think it's quite 'would the last person leaving Edinburgh turn off the lights'...
