Ne'er cast a cloot 'til May is oot!! Crack out the thermals, if you ever put them away.

I scoffed when people were saying that May was set to be the coldest on record...mmmm, I am revising my thoughts on this!! Yes, April was miserable. What I think is absoulutely the worst is the fact that it is cloudy all day, every day, unrelenting dullness. I mean just how much cloud can there be??

May is "usually" one of the nicer months weather-wise in Scotland. Today is nice, but it looks like the Spokes ride on Sunday will be in winter conditions! Was not January milder than what we are "looking forward" to? Granted the days are longer, but still...

Oh, I forgot to say: I'm in Forfar this weekend for my Mammy's birthday, but she's worried about the internet weirdos I hang out with, and more pertinently, we won't be in the house on Saturday night, so I can't offer you a bunk. Watch this space and I'll see about getting you a seat round the table for Sunday dinner, though.

I've tried explaining the irony of her internet weirdo concern to her, but...

That is a very kind offer Uberuce. We're driving up on the day... err morning and then returning home afterwards. Three in the car with bikes! Are you doing anything Sunday? Fancy a we jaunt out to .... Braemar for lunch?

I've seen the elevation profile, and I dunno if wee blue floofy and I would make it, so I think I'll restrict myself to pootling over on my Dad's BSO and waving you off from the start line.

@bax if that is the case then it is safe to cast off your vestments!! I am fairly certain that the hawthorn has stopped flowering. Although according to gardening things I have been looking at it flowers between May and June, although I am certain I have seen a fair amount of it already.
