What is missing from the following picture?
Can you suggest how this new path might be improved?

Winner is Gembo
His suggestion of adding chains between the bollards ticked all the boxes this time!
Reason?
• adding chains already 'builds' on what has been achieved and helps to 'make sense' of the work carried out.
• adding chains will also help to use up the existing underspend from this year's budget (assuming there is one)
• adding chains fits in with the idea of 'Streetscape' and helps this quieter corner of Edinburgh associate with other more important places which use bollards.
• adding chains will not stop the exisiting priviliged parking enjoyed by the blue Citreon Picasso on the path.
• adding chains will deter cyclists from weaving in and out of bollards - thus improving safety for other path users
• adding chains will provide a challenge for slack rope walkers ...
Other suggestions were of course based on actually improving path from the 'narrow viewpoint' of cycling. Whilst good these were just too sensible!
Gembo wins a shot on any LB bike he likes plus a paper copy of Velo Vision magazine (worth £6). This complements the excellent City Cycling mag.
