Having put it off as long as possible, I now need to dispose of our old washing machine.

Would it be useful for the washing machine race, and if so, does anyone have garage space to store it until then?

Otherwise, it's trailer to the tip this evening...

  2. I'm resurrecting the washing machine race idea, but as a pitch to the Cycle Show on ITV. So if everyone is still up for it, let's see if we can get ourselves on the telly...

Could we have a family variant? after we have trailers! (and washing machines).

+1 for SRD's idea, though it might be best to have "representative weight" rather than actual breakable little ones in the trailers if it's a race :-o

@SRD/Smudge the original concept was to do the ride in teams, with a few sets of stronger / bigger arms and legs for the purposes of lifting / carrying / pedalling / maneouvring, plus others to help problem solving to route around / through / over infrastructure, take photographs, generally help and get in the way.

Speeds will of course be very slow and routes more than likely washing machine and child friendly.

So I don't think your suggestion should be incompatible.

There's an old gas cooker been dumped at the top of my street. Where's Bruce and his trailer?

I'm sure in a world class cycling city no lifting will be required, after all, it must be kiddie trailer friendly to be world class, and where the kiddie trailer goes the washing machine should fit...but ahhh, this is the city that brought us Edinburghs disgrace, and the trambles! :-o
