    Hi all,

Risking the wrath of Ipsos Mori directors everywhere, I decided that as surveys are a game anyone can play, it might be nice to tweak the nose of the IAM with my own variation on their recent effort.

I don't think the forum is wide enough to embed the survey, but you can take it by clicking here.

It will only take a minute and I promise to make the raw data available as well as mocking the IAM with the conclusions.

Please feel free to share it with the various social media buttons. We only need a handful of responses for it to reach the same level of statistical significance as the IAM poll.

    thanks!

I am sure it is but just to check, is the strange counter-intuitive wording of your final set of questions deliberate?

I've done it, but the wording of the options of the last question is all kerflooey.

I abandoned it because of the wording of the last questions.

Heh, well caught. I've modified the final question to be less ambiguous (hopefully!)

It now reads "Does not impact my safety significantly" / "Impacts my safety significantly" for each of the activities described.

There were a few early responses that I think failed to interpret the inner workings of my brain, but that's OK - you'll be lost in aggregate :-P (or you could take it again...)

Hmm. More than 10% of the submissions that the IAM had and it's only been a few hours.

Ah, see I thought you had done it on purpose, so my answers are therefore a bit nonsense. I could just do it again a few dozen times to swamp out my error, as you rightly point out.

Done. On the basis that "Impacts my safety significantly" = "Has an effect on my safety that may be adverse or benficial, but is not trivial"

Indeed. 'significant' is a wonderful word. As Sir Humprey said, "Almost anything can be attacked as a loss of amenity, but almost anything can be defended as not a significant loss of amenity".

It features highly in work correspondence whenever I want to be slippery.
