@CyclingEdin So Royalty visit the RIE & so we’re not allowed to park bikes. Empty cycle bays are a good look?

CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

I presume no cars will be allowed to park either? I mean, it's not as if anyone has ever set off a car bomb whereas you hear about those bike bombs all the time....
Furry boots? Just parked my bike 5 minutes ago.
Princess Anne was visiting maternity or something.
Ah, probably round the back then. Must go and have a rubberneck.
Car Park is closed too though it is only a very tiny one.
Yeah, bike racks been off limits since Friday pm.
Big notices saying any bikes will be removed by polis.
Hopefully back to normal tomorow. (otherwise mine might be removed!

@CyclingEdin This is the scene the RIE wanted to show her highness. Are bikes dangerous or ugly? Car parks were open.
Bicycle bombs, very populor. Park up an innocent bicycle, except hollow tubing packed with explosives. very nasty devices.
Bicycle bombs: popular (if that's the right word) in Vietnam, back in the day.
That's only because they couldn't afford cars or road tax etc....
I repeat, the car park for the Maternity bit was NOT open. All the other car parks were, as were all the other bike racks.

Sorry, yes, my point was that, at that time, I thought cars had been allowed to park there and you also get car bombs (not that there were not or ever had been bike bombs). All rendered pointless anyway because, as Min has pointed out, cars weren't actually allowed to park either.
Nobody considered those cunning U-lock bombs or Sheffield stand bombs then? Tsk, tsk. Very lax, MI5. ;-)
Do I take it then that there's a group of us that work at RIE? I'm new here, you see, so it wouldn't be immediately obvious to me...
Well I know 2 others on here
They may or may not be PMing you...
