    Hopefully not offenders with an interest in stealing bikes and taking them apart to rebuild new bikes that can't be identified by the owner...

    So cynical for one so young; although that said, the second best monstermaking powerlifter/strongman gym I've ever been to was in Shotts maximum-security prison, and I couldn't help thinking that I'd detected a flaw in their logic...

    Palace of Arts in Glasgow. The squat racks there came down from heaven on the wings of burly angels.

    How to apply for a free, new-to-you-bike via CEC.

    "If you are in any of the following categories, you can apply for a free-of-charge, new-to-you bike:

  7. single parent
  8. disabled person
  9. in receipt of state benefits
  10. elderly
    community organisation or group
  11. school
  12. after school club
  13. play scheme
  14. youth club
  15. young people's residential unit
  16. community bicycle club
  17. person with additional support needs
  18. person with an allocated social worker or support worker.

    To apply, download the Brake the Cycle application form, print, fill it out and hand it in to your local workshop."

    and there are four workshops currently in Edinburgh.
