    There was a UK one a couple of years ago - Cycle Social or something, which seemed to fizzle out and then got folded into something else. I joined it but it didn't have anyone in my area. These things need a reasonable critical mass to be effective, especially if you live somewhere not very wired like Dumfries and Galloway...

    Cycle Social turned into Morvélo, apparently. Grand total of two members in Edinburgh. Cycling Buddy is doing quite a lot better than that already.

    There's a local Meetup group for cycling with quite a few members. I haven't got the link to hand.
