CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Specifically, "Achievements in Cycling
Cycling Scotland – freshnlo Pedal for Scotland"
So a 'fun' ride sponsored by a huge dairy firm is Scotland's "achievement" in cycling over the past year? Must try harder, Scotland!
Mind you, Scotrail were public transport operator of the year, and Glasgow Airport were airport of the year. All a bit meaningless really.
Don't Cycling Scotland win every year for Pedal for Scotland?
Pah, PoP was a HUGE achievement. ;)
Apparently, in 2011:
"6. Best Cycling Improvements
Winner – Glasgow City Council – Cycling in Glasgow"
WHAT ???
2010:
"6. Cycling Improvements
Winners- South Ayrshire Council - Route Development 2002-2010"
South Ayrshire, Scotland's cycling Mecca!
2009:
"Cycling Improvements Award
Fife Council"
Hmmm...
Re: 2012 awards...

Chuckle
That's cycling sorted, then.
We can move on to world peace now.
Newsflash - Scottish Government civil servant casts vote for Scottish Government-backed award scheme to give first prize to Scottish Government-backed organisation.
Now that Cycling Scotland have achieved so much positive press for the milk industry for cycling in Scotland I look forward to making full use of all the facilities that their relentless campaigning for more and better funding for cycling are going to pay for.
Maybe we could mirror the huge success of Boris's blue Barclays bikes and bike lanes and have lovely black and white cow-print Wiseman Lanes?
More like green'n'blue cycle lanes.
