Alas, I shall be in Harris

I are slow. I was going to suggest a Zazou, but Pete's is neats, too.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Just a reminder.

I shall be there all going to plan. I am night shift and will stop off on way home, so will be a cup of tea (and maybe just a little slice of cake) for me. I think Quentin should be along as well.
Look forward to it.

Sad to be missing this, as I am on holiday, but I shall be away in Cardiff. Enjoy and hopefully another will be arranged soon.

Hmmm, might be tempted by a lie in and a nice coffee... I'll maybe see you guys about 0730ish if the rest of the week goes ok :-)
Posted 12 years ago # -
Hmmm. I might come. I would have to neck my coffee and leave, though, as I need to get a train at a reasonable time.

If anyone is both attendifying before 8.30 and in possession of some Vavert-compatible bolty fixy things that you'd happily trade for a beverage, then you shall happily get a free beverage in exchange for your Vavert-compatible eyebolt fixy things.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Do you mean the bolts that go through the eyelet on the mudguard stays and into the frame? If yes I may have a couple (will have to look!).
How many do you need?Posted 12 years ago # -
I shall attempt to make it in from Darkest Fife. If the weather has not changed I'll be swimming over otherwise I'll be on the Dawes.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Newps, it's the stays-mudguard area that's needing affixed.
I should have mentioned first that it's a Bike Station rescue mudguard and the stays are from a bag of SKS parts, so I might be on a hiding to nothing even if there is a CCE/PY person with four eyebolt things going spare.
Posted 12 years ago # -
@Oobyroo!
I think I have spares of those eyebolt things. Shall check in garage tomorrow. Probably not at PY on Fri though.Posted 12 years ago # -
hmmm dunno then, probably some bodgery called for, got cable ties and black nasty?! ;-)
Posted 12 years ago # -
We're crossing the streams! Think of the Stay-Puft man and run away!
Posted 12 years ago # -
@uberuce - Thebikechain were able to order me replacement mudguard parts out their catalogue. If all else fails you could try that? Alas any of my spare bits are SKS or Planet Bike guards.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Oh, I can get them from EBC for £7.99, but I'd rather raid a willing CCEr's junk box in exchange for Scandinavian produce.
A bit like a much more civilised Viking.
Oh, and since it's only the four I need, I'd end up with four largely useless spares myself, and I'm already too much of a packrat.
Posted 12 years ago # -
ah I see, well I've possibly some eye-bolt spares so if I have anything that looks promising, I'll dig them out. Even though I already owe you coffee and a cake.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Hmmm, my spidey-sense tells me caffeine and cinnamon may be imminent B-)
Posted 12 years ago # -
Hello all, I will be unable to make it for coffee this morning (still at work). I will hopefully make it to the next one. Apologies.
Paul.

Oh, bumsy. Didn't check this thread too, so I didn't mention here that I've located some spares for one British pound out of Bike Works. Time to see whether this front mudguard business is miraculous or raowbish.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Decided to be generous and not spread my germs round you guys. See you next time.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Well it was nice to meet you all this morning - I'm sorry I couldn't stay longer. I met Uberuce, Smudge, two Daves, Wilmington's Cow and Steveo. I think...
I'd never been to PY before - it is avery nice place (and I can see that it would be a nice place to go and sit in the sun and watch the world go by, on the one day that the sun does shine on Edinburgh, so I will keep it in mind for that...)
Posted 12 years ago # -
Oh I must of missed Willmington's Cow unless anth has changed his forum name?
Nice to meet you fimm. As we left it started to rain, and I got a re-soaking on the quick sprint to St Andrew Sq....

"Oh I must of missed Willmington's Cow unless anth has changed his forum name?"
*waves*
Fresh, non-argumentative, start.

"Fresh, non-argumentative, start"
But most of your arguing was on other forumrums (allegedly).

I'd started bringing it here as well, but this is a nice place, and I don't want to pollute it with my base curmudgeonliness.
Had been suggested that the citycycling editorial policy was a touch too 'adversarial' as well, so figuring out whether that's a good or a bad thing before I relaunch (as well as still working on the redesign).
