*****CANCELLATION**** Ladies Bike Ride - 21st June - Today

    So much for midsummer's day eh?

    Apologies for the lateness of this message, but I really do not think that this is going to happen this evening. I was rather hoping that the rain might go off but it really does not look like it is going to stop. I will go to the CP to mop up, literally and metaphorically, any possible, very hopeful candidates. I got soaked in a matter of about half a mile coming home from work.

    I am very sorry, I am not known for my wussiness but bike rides in pouring rain is not my idea of fun!! I really had looked forward to this since first advertising it in January but the weather is just not with us today.

    @Cog: I think you're right: This is not the weather for such activity. But can't you just delay it a week? (don't cancel it completely!).

    (anyway, feel a bit of an imposter on this thread - as I'm not a lady!)

    And to think I had my ballgown drycleaned especially and spent all those hours trawling the shops for matching ribbons to braid into my beard...

    @ Lionfish, it is an annual event that takes place during bike week...and has done for a number of years.

    I did go to see if anyone had turned up, there were two others, one who told me that she had stopped on her way home and was not intending to go...and the other was a bit disappointed but no-one else ventured out.

    @Uber - sorry, you would have fitted right in, as the bearded lady perhaps!! I am rather disappointed myself that you didn't turn out to show off your finery!!
