"No, cos CCE dinnae use it."

    Yeah but..

I'm reluctant to install and then find that people buy an app that they aren't happy with.

I think its getting busier overall, new names keep popping up and returning, its still fun and respectful.

chdot: 'Lot's have questions have been asked and answered (and are still there to be found if the search facility does its job adequately).'

I'm sorry but it doesn't, I use google to search the site now, and the tags posts are given seem to have no use at all. :(

When the search engine brings up the 'spotted' thread, I'll be convinced it works!

Or Wildlife Highlights or Good Driving!
I have often though the sub fora headings are not useful and I never know where to put things. I don't know what to suggest though or whether it would be possible/practical to change it.

Sent from my blackberry. I don't really have any problem viewing the site with it though I prefer a big computer as it is bigger.

Sent from a borrowed iPad which has the advantage of being able to see ethe keys with eyes half shut. The fact the keyboard is slightly different from an iPhone is a bit surprising (they both run the same OS) - and annoying!

I can't pretend that the Search is wonderful or Googlestyle intelligent.

BUT it can/usually does work if you know what you are looking for and understand its quirks.

Something like the Spotted thread is probably there - but several pages down as (I think) it lists according to date started, rather than recently posted on.

HOWEVER things improve if you use Advanced Search. If you narrow search to past week it comes up.

There is an option for 'title only' which found other threads with "spotted" but not the main one!

I also find that if you untick "exact words" it finds things even if the words searched for are correct - and in the right order!

As for "Wildlife Highlights" unfortunately it's not smart enough to know that you are really looking for "Wildlife Highlight".

It does find "wildlife hig" even "ife hig"!

    So it's not all bad.

Frequently view and post using the HTC Android "Internet" browser (webkit based, I think).

Works OK; double-tap to re-flow the tread dumps the side bars and flip to landscape to post seems to be a reasonable approach. Might not be so good it you don't have a keypad though.

    Never used tapatalk.

I'm also quite happy browsing/posting on andoid via the dolphin browser.

I have given up on the search though, so if something drops off the main page I tend not to go hunting for it...

    I gave up after that.

    Yes, degrees of random.

Monday and Fridays seem slightly less busy recently too.

Search here needs 3 letters min.

Its also not as clever as google to take the whole sentence in a degree of context. Though being not as clever as Google at search is not much of a complaint really.

You don't need the "http://" in the site specification bit of the Google search.
