CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Car manufacturers do seem to occasionally dabble with having a shot a producing a bike (or rebranding someone else's bike). This is interesting in that it takes away some functionality from your car (a spare wheel) so in that sense it's similar to the integrated bike rack that Vauxhall do (did?) on some of their models - that too came at the expense of a spare wheel.
I guess this will be an expensive extra.
I wonder if it will be any good - it certainly looks like a gimick, but a bike that fits into a spare wheel well is an interesting idea. Anyone know if a Brompton would fit? (depends on the car I guess)
The above 'bike' doesn't seem to have pedals, so where does that place it legally? Would it technically be classed as a bicycle in the UK?
When Mercedes brought out a folding bike a while back, AtoB got hold of one and were pretty scathing so it will be interesting to see if they cover this.
Moulton and Land Rover had some tie in for a while did they not? (I'm sure chdot will confirm).
That is awesome and I want one
hideous!
I think it's quite nifty, but what's the point of a bike without pedals. it's more of a scooter or motorcycle really.
"Moulton and Land Rover had some tie in for a while did they not?"
There was a range of Land Rover branded versions of the Pashley made Moulton APB.
No pedals, what do you do when the battery goes flat??
exactly!!
"No pedals, what do you do when the battery goes flat??"
Plan around this limitation? Recharge the battery?
What do you do when a car runs out of petrol? Push it?
Yeah but no but! it has a range of 12.5miles........what good is that? that's nothing then you have to recharge it....how long does that take??? AND they seem to be promoting it as green?? it runs on batteries it's ugly it's the next sinclair c5!!!
But that's just my opinion other opinions are available. ;-)
Bu, cb, surely the whole point of it being a substitute for a spare wheel is that it's available for emergencies - you therefore can't plan its use!

That's slightly less silly than the land-rover baby buggy, but not by much...
