@Arobcomp - part of martial arts double act. quite scary. Not as scary as Kaputnik on stenhouse path shouting at me to get out of his way (possibly ironically) He was racing the man who arrives in Balerno as I am leaving in the morning with the candy striped bike (customised by coloured tape?). Candy man had his winter titfer on. Both Candy MaN AND KAPPS had dazzling lights. At next junction shoal of brightly coloured cyclists joined by stupid donkey jumping the lights by cycling on to the pedestrian crossing which wasn't even at green . Took a few of the bright colours with him. Once safe the rest of us crossed, time spent waiting two seconds.

Ah, sorry Nelly - I was blinded by your bleedin lights. I used to live in Argyle Place above Home Cooking. THe liberty print curtains are still in the window from 1990. Has Argyle Bar closed? From an earlier post I thought you might be suggesting that?

Family - kids on bikes on road - coming from Craiglockhart direction towards St David's, and then presumably onwards to St Thomas of Aquin's, where I have seen them before. Nice to see!

And a red thorn tandem (childback?) at Bruntsfield Place/leamington walk.

@Gembo lights must be effective as you had a bit of a "deer in the headlights" look about you as we approached!

    Has Argyle Bar closed?

Yes, about 2 weeks ago. Being done up though. Rumour it might become a branch of "Brass Monkey"

Saw Kapps again today in unusual middle of the day spot, usually at home time these blinding episodes of brief encouterness.

Spotted many, many people from waverley court through the park and out at Pollock Halls cycling along without lights around 5pm in pea souper. Once beyond the commie pool much higher incidence of people with lights

Eh? you were going past my work in your gilet and froome specs, lovely flat back position, I was surprised to see you as I emerged from Fords Road, I gave you the nod, you looked straight at me and gave me the nod back. Did you have a little power nap after lunch and go out for a sleep cycle?

Did it have drop bars? Wonderiung if it was the one I viewed in Morningside earlier this year (was outbid on fleaBay by quite a margin).

Had a black coat on today, not a gilet, and have modified my route so I no longer go passed your work! Sure it wasn't you who forgot your specs? :)

Nelly on the Broomhouse path, didn't realise it was him till we were level. His headlight beam shape and the fog meant all i could see was a non distinct moving white blob of light! Bloody bright though!

Man with a white beard on a high recumbent bike going past the Commie away from town about 9pm yesterday - I nearly pushed my Brompton out in front of him, I don't know how I didn't see him as he had a very bright front light which was very obvious when I looked the second time!

Then today about 6pm a chap who bunny-hopped the slightly dubious bit of road just at the start of the Gorgie Road. He was perfectly visible without lights or high-vis and I regretted my caution in putting mine on.

Sorry steveo, was either sleepcycling home, or looking thru the misted up specs - took them off at stenhouse.

Anyhooo, cant believe I missed your triple beam lighting up the foggy drizzle!

Lots of daftie pedestrian ninjas tonight, eh?

P.s. added an ebay diffuser to my light last night as it was too spotty - now in a much more useable shape - took the canal this morning to test and scared a few rats.

Maybe it wasn't you then... But who ever it was had a bright light and nodded at me when we were out of each others lights.

That reminds me - roadkill badger in the Bathgate Alps on Sunday. Also a large number of smiley wavey cyclists, what with it being such a grand day for a jaunt.

Spotted a Bakfiets cargobike with child seat on the back (sans children), didn't catch Mum's eye, but she got a big grin anyway. I didn't notice if the box was configured for children or cargo, but I think they're fairly unusual in Edinburgh in either case.

Spotted 3 dads with around 8 or 9 wee children off on a bike/scooter ride along to the 5 ways junction on the North Edinburgh path. I think they may be going to a local nursery. Reminded me of the lovely house on that line down towards the shore which used to be the train station. If I won the lotto I think I'd start a nursery business on an old station like that with NO car access for parents to force them into cycling there :D

Woman solo-ing a tandem at bottom of Gilmore Park and heading in direction of the path between Fountainbridge and West Approach / Morrison Link. Was thinking she would have fun once she got to the slalom section at the bottom.
