You did? I completely missed that. Must have been thinking about the 2 lb banana bread loaf nestled in the Carradice ("Gone in 60 Seconds" when it came to afternoon coffee time)

cyclist (surprise !) last night at about 5, 30ish, at lights on davidsn mains junction with q ferry road, a car , or two had broken down and the traffic was (seemed)worse than usual. I was in the company vehicle, 50 foot long asda wagon, who inadvertinly encroached into an empty asl cause the lights changed and the traffic stopped ON the yellow junction box, otherwise i would have managed to skip across.
Someone did pull into the asl, drop bar type bike, didnt look at me but i was a bit sheepish anyway !

"encroached into an empty asl cause the lights changed and the traffic stopped ON the yellow junction box"

That's covered by law - so you were legal.

Spotted SRD heading towards the MMW non-crossing on her Helios tandem. Was in disguise as dog walker.
Also spotted lots of bikes and people trying to get across the road at this area. No attempt to warn traffic to slow down from what I could see.

Spotted Kaputnik at fountainbridge again this a.m. But I was disguised as groom to be being driven by bride to be to narcissus florists for a thistle corsage and two rose corsgages.

    Some scots, some English

    Corsageges for courses?

I must have missed your tails and tophat. I was much to harrassed by the cooncil transit van that had just given me the "childs' arm-reach" pass, as prescribed by Cycling Scotland.

Proprietor of a local bicyle business had locked his ride to one of the poorly-placed "Diversion" signs of Argyle Place. Rumour has it he was having a well earned drink.

Deputy Transport convenor (and much harassed local councillor) on MMW (on a bike, of course!).

er, no, I was trying to turn into George Square and he was overtaking on the right (I probably should've signalled sooner but was focussed on pedestrians wandering into my path).

  14. amir as I teetered about atop the giant rock off the Innocent below the tunnel - nice wee chat on the merits (or otherwise) of blue and orange colour schemes.

Wingpig turning on to Lothian Road this morning as I was heading up to the office.

I had to come along Princes Street this morning, tramlines wern't an issue but the mass of buses hasn't got any more fun.

Worry ye not Steveo, when the Tram is up and running (ahead of schedule, year 2029 predicted) there will be 3 less buses a day on Princes Street to contend with.

cb in mad panic to get on his train at Haymarket. I was in disguise without suit (dress down Friday) or Brompton (which has a puncture).

Oh, and last Saturday I saw two different recumbents - one was coming under the road bridge on the way into Kirkliston and the other was coming up the cycle path from Crammond Brig as I was going down. The latter had a hi-vis flag while the former didn't; the former may have been with two cyclists on upright bicycles or they may have just happened to be on the same piece of road at the same time.

"panic to get on his train"

I was expecting a platform change due to other trains running late, so was waiting at the top of the steps.

Fortunately no bike folding errors so managed to get on the train no problem.

Have fun with the Brompton puncture fixing.

Aha, that was why you were still there. I did wonder.
It is the Brompton front wheel, thankfully, and I had a puncture in it not long ago so I should be OK. I made the right call to sprint for bus and train rather than fix it, though.

Distinctively pink-buffed dismounted cyclist halfway up Morningside Road. Nearby was a cheerily waving Mr SRD, so reverse Spot to him.

About two minutes later, reverse Spot by Nelly.

This also marks my first unlit ride home. I would have stowed the brickie's vest and objectionable gloves in my bag but it was rammed full of unwanted things from work.

Looked grand, hope you had a good run.

I may have passed recombodna and family in Marchmont. Sorry! I was moving away across the lights when I suddenly realised that the bike beside me was a very pretty bakfiets.
