I spotted Kim at the last minute while I was tooling down the Bike Corridor of Dubious Quality, heading towards the Meadows.

Later spotted chdot with impressively bright headlight heading along Balcarres St. I was trying to cleverly circumvent the traffic madness of Braid Road and Greenbank crossroads by taking an unusual diversionary route up the big hill to Craighouse, and then got snarled up in yet more traffic jams at Morningside Grove. The roads have seemed completely mental the last couple of evenings.

Suspected Dave from position and disposition on the wee slope between Lindsay Road and the nameless port-side street.

    "with impressively bright headlight"

Well I always thought so until the era of over-the-top LEDs.

Heh, I saw the guy on the right this evening as I admired the sunset from the Leamington Lift Bridge. I saw him coming and thought he needed lights, then he almost ran down a pedestrian as too late he tried to skid-brake and make the turn across the bridge.

Lots of people out without lights last night, I think it happens more frequently around the times the clocks are about to change

Uberuce and Spitfire chewing the fat outside the school at the top of Ashley Terrace. I nodded but was at about the speed I find a little hairy controling on the fixed.

Ninja motocross bike on the towpath just west of Slateford Aqueduct giving his girlfriend a backie. Gave me a cheery wave as I pulled over to let him pass. Not sure if he'd come across the viaduct or turned round there to head back to where he'd come from.

Day before yesterday a small breakaway contingent of the ERC, possibly heading out the Lang Whang in the morning sunshine tho how all three of them ended up cycling on the pavement on the wrong side of the road at the slateford longstone junction, Imdom't know. Gave me a very cheery wave in response to my what the flip are you doing frown

Spot 1: Smudge flying past me going along the Slateford Road. I caught him up with a considerable effort and we had a bit of a chat until he went up the hill at the lights before the Water of Leith and I went straight on.

Spot 2: the same cyclist twice. I passed him the first time going up the Lanark Road in Juniper Green/Currie somewhere. Flat barred bike, two little blicky rear lights, rucksack with high-vis cover strapped on the rear rack, not going much slower than I was. Then, going down through Kirknewton, I realised I was catching a cyclist. A bit of accelleration for the A71 lights and I nearly caught him again, but he turned onto the A71 and I go across - but it was definitely the same guy, with the rucksack on his rack. He must have gone along the slightly shorter Long Dalmahoy Road route, while I'd had to wait at a temporary traffic light at the very top of the road out of Balerno.

@Fimm, too kind, being honest I was on a short (4 mile?) sprint out from Haymarket to Colinton, you were going considerably farther and justified in conserving energy! :-)

Nelly, just as he reached the bridge atop Ashley Terrace. I was disguised as a pedestrian walking a wee dog along the side street.

Uberuce - in which case, you also spotted that I was totally knackered and almost at a standstill!

In my defence I had a litre of Teachers (£16 asda) in the carradice on top of usual rubbish.

Sorry I missed you and your wee pal :-(

Steveo - Stenhouse at the lights going west just at start of broomhouse path - just how bad was that traffic behind you by the way?

Wow, all the traffic tonight was terrible - glad I was perched on the bike.

I spotted Nelly as he passed me waiting at top of Marchmont Road. I had come on the long, scenic route via Cammo and Cramond and Silverknowes and Warriston.

Traffic seemed mental all the way home last night, those temporary lights at Balgreen are doing wonders for traffic flow! Haven't been that way on foot to see if they've made any provision at all for pedestrians...

Chap on a handcycle, waiting on his two kids to catch up, just outside Polworth Co-op. I mentioned that his device needed some mudguards, and we chatted gearing while I unlocked and packed panniers, then his kids appeared and turned out to be two I looked after until they aged out.

  23. Roibeard on Melville Drive waiting at the newly-turned-on-again temporary crossing (though I think I was spotted first and had no time but to briefly nod with what was hopefully a smile and not a grimace); then Amir caught me up near home, shouting a greeting as I turned off...

WC - I must have a doppelganger - I was not near your home yesterday pm.

  25. Dammit - I did wonder, especially when I saw your Strava route later. Hmmmm. T'was but a glimpse, but now I feel rather bad for not knowing who hailed me in such hearty spirits!

I saw a paper bicycle lastnight on the Wariston Path heading south. Mice red bike and he was gone before i had opportunity to comment on its niceness.

I saw one yesterday too, but black I think - around 12.30 between George Square and Bristo Square. Rider looked like he ought to be heading for the tweed ride.
